Lang Thang translates to “wander”. That is a word that captures our spirit, our existential reason for being. We exist to wander and in our wanderings, we connect, learn and grow. We wander, not without purpose, but with open hearts and open arms, to love, to embrace all that there are left to us to cherish and to treasure. We wander, not without reason, but to witness and listen to stories untold and songs yet to be sung. We wander but we are not lost.

We are travel industry experts, sustainability professionals, activists, owners and most of all, travellers who believe in the endless possibilities of the open road - and the impossibilities of the endless road.

At Lang Thang Travel, we believe in leaving things better — for the people, communities, and environment we connect with. We proudly support Tinh Tru Gia in Hue, an NGO providing alternative education for children with disabilities, who is also consulting with the Hue Department of Education to develop Happy Schools curriculum. In Hoi An, we contribute to Thuan Nhien School, which follows the Waldorf-Steiner methodology to offer affordable education.
Our commitment to positive impact extends across all facets of our business — from partnering with local guides and dining at family-run restaurants to ensuring that our hotels, which can account for up to 50% of travel costs, are always locally owned. We consciously choose this path because we believe supporting local businesses creates meaningful change and prevents economic flight. While some turn to carbon offsets, we focus on real, immediate action — minimizing our footprint from the start rather than relying on compensatory measures.
